Resources
As a parent, caregiver, or loved one of a child with developmental needs, you may find yourself searching for resources that are helpful in your community and online that offer information regarding topics that resonate in your journey. There are lots of wonderful resources out there and we commend you for navigating this path! When navigating online resources it will be important to find information from sources that cite literature and research that is reliable and reputable. As Beautiful Bend opens it's doors and gathers resources, we will cite these here and in our social media outlets. As we meet we would love to hear about the resources you have found helpful in your journey as a family!

What is a Beautiful Bend?
Bend, Do not Break! When a family is navigating a life with their child that has developmental challenges, they experience a bend in what they expected their path's direction would be as a family. It is not uncommon to experience a feeling of loss and grief in this journey. As a mom of two boys that are my inspiration and a guiding light in my life, I have experienced a paradox in loving them. One is here in this life, and the other is in the life-thereafter. The life given to me is a challenge in parenting both of my children- to live as one family in life- to never break- but instead to live in the Beautiful Bend.
As a pediatric therapist in a hospital setting, as well as home, daycare, and school, for 15 years, I have been incredibly blessed and privileged to be a support to many families navigating their 'bends' in the Southern part of Manitoba. Often these were difficult and confusing challenges; we listened, shared, and acknowledged the hard and celebrated the beauty that is also present. I would like to continue to be a support to children and their families in this journey as a private practitioner. At Beautiful Bend I am passionate about supporting you, your child, and family navigating the 'beautiful bends' that occur in your journey as a family.
